FAQ
What is TechSavvy?
TechSavvy is building a network that connects organizations that need technology help with independent IT professionals who have the appropriate skills and experience for the work.
Who can join TechSavvy?
We're looking for capable IT professionals from a variety of backgrounds. You might work in corporate IT, at an MSP, as an independent consultant, or have developed your skills through certifications, education, home labs, projects or years of hands-on experience.
Do I need a college degree?
No. We care about what you can do—not just how you learned to do it.
Do I need certifications?
Not necessarily. Certifications can help demonstrate knowledge, but they're only one way of showing what you know. Some specialized work may require particular certifications, credentials or licensing.
Do I need to know every area of IT?
No. TechSavvy is built around different capabilities and specialties. You can focus on the areas where you're genuinely qualified.
Can I qualify for more than one specialty?
Yes. Many IT professionals have experience across several areas. Your capabilities can be reviewed individually.
Does applying guarantee that I'll be accepted?
No. Applying begins the review process. TechSavvy evaluates applicants and the capabilities they want to offer before approving them for the network.
Does becoming an approved provider guarantee work?
No. TechSavvy providers are independent professionals, and approval does not guarantee assignments or a particular amount of work.
Can I choose which opportunities I accept?
Yes. Independent providers decide whether an opportunity is appropriate for their skills, location and availability before accepting it.
Is TechSavvy hiring employees?
The provider network is designed around independent IT professionals rather than traditional employment positions.
Who does TechSavvy support?
TechSavvy is being built for businesses, nonprofits, schools, churches and faith-based organizations, MSPs and IT partners, government and public organizations, and other organizations that need professional technology expertise.
Is TechSavvy only for organizations without IT staff?
No. Organizations with internal IT teams or an MSP may still need additional onsite help, specialized expertise, project assistance or extra capacity.
What kinds of IT work will be available?
TechSavvy covers a range of capabilities including field support, deployments, networking and Wi-Fi, infrastructure, Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, identity, Apple device management, cybersecurity, AV and collaboration systems, VoIP, structured cabling, Smart Hands and other technology specialties.
Where is TechSavvy available?
TechSavvy is starting in the Philadelphia tri-state region and is being built with room to grow.
